Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What does airsoft shimming do?

A: Airsoft shimming involves placing shims between gears and other components in the gearbox to achieve proper alignment and prevent gear wobble. This helps to ensure smooth operation, reduce noise, and extend the lifespan of the gearbox by minimizing wear and tear.

Q: What is CNC airsoft?

A: CNC airsoft refers to airsoft components or parts that are manufactured using CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machining technology. CNC machining allows for high precision and consistency in the production of airsoft parts, such as gearboxes, receivers, and other components.

Q: Why is shimming necessary?

A: Shimming is necessary to ensure that the gears in an airsoft gearbox are properly aligned and mesh correctly. Without proper shimming, gears can cause excessive friction, noise, and wear, which can lead to reduced performance and potential damage to the gearbox.

Q: Can a CNC machine make guns?

A: Yes, CNC machines can be used to manufacture parts for guns, including airsoft guns and real firearms. CNC technology allows for precise and complex machining of components, making it suitable for producing high-quality and accurate parts.

Q: What is the difference between CNC and CO2?

A: CNC (Computer Numerical Control) is a machining process used to create precise parts through automated cutting and shaping. CO2 (carbon dioxide) refers to a type of gas used in some airsoft guns to propel BBs. CNC is related to manufacturing processes, while CO2 is related to power sources for airsoft guns.

"Tips for new players: buy tickets ahead of time online, use white bio bbs, and use real eye protection not ballistic sunglasses. The field is well managed and has a positive culture! hard to find a field as good as Fox Airsoft, I'm gonna start going there every week."
