The CXP UK1 Captain is ICS' newest gun! It's from the UK1 series and features a split-design gearbox, a full metal body, and a keymod rail system. This gun packs all the features of the other UK1 rifles into a package that's under 2 feet in length! The Captain was designed as a PDW style rifle, combining the maneuverability and weight of a submachine gun with the range and modularity of a rifle.

The Captain is available in either Tan or Black and has options for a smaller bare buffer tube or a full MTR style stock. This gun has a full metal body with full ICS UK1 trademarks and a metal keymod rail system. This rail is a total of 6 inches long and has keymod slots on the bottom and sides. The flip-up front sight is built right into the top of the rail, making it extra low profile. The included rear sight is rail-mounted and matches in color. The rail system matches up exactly with the 6-inch barrel, which perfectly nests the enlarged flash hider. ICS also includes a 300-round high-capacity T-Mag and an upgraded ergonomic pistol grip.

This rifle has a surprising amount of rail space for being so small. We threw a Lancer Tactical M4 Red & Green Dot on the receiver. The Bravo PEQ 15 Laser and Flashlight fits perfectly on the top rail while having the front sight flipped up. To mount the Hera HFG Grip or any other standard picatinny accessory to the Captain, you'll have to use an ICS Keymod Rail Section. Even with all these accessories mounted, we still had the ten keymod slots unoccupied!

Internally, the ICS Captain has the standard UK1 features. The ICS Split Design Gearbox makes upgrades and repairs a breeze, as you only have to pop out one pin, and you're already looking at the inside of your gearbox. This system also allows you to quickly swap upper gearboxes if transitioning between high FPS outdoor and restricted indoor play. Even though this gearbox has all of these unique features, it's still a Version 2 gearbox, making it completely upgradeable with most V2 parts on the market.

At the end of the day, the ICS Captain comes in at only $269.99, a small price point for a small rifle.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is DMR a sniper?

A Designated Marksman Rifle (DMR) is not the same as a sniper rifle, although they share some similarities. A DMR is designed for use by a designated marksman within a military squad to provide accurate fire at intermediate ranges, typically between 300 and 600 meters. While sniper rifles are intended for long-range precision shooting, often exceeding 800 meters, DMRs bridge the gap between standard infantry rifles and sniper rifles. DMRs offer a balance of accuracy, range, and rate of fire, making them versatile for various combat scenarios.

Is M14 a DMR?

Yes, the M14 rifle is commonly used as a Designated Marksman Rifle (DMR). Originally designed as a battle rifle, the M14 has been adapted for the DMR role due to its accuracy and effective range. It is equipped with optics and other modifications to enhance its performance for designated marksmen. The M14's semi-automatic fire capability and 7.62mm caliber make it suitable for engaging targets at intermediate distances, providing accurate fire support for infantry units.

Is airsoft kid friendly?

Airsoft can be kid-friendly if appropriate safety measures and guidelines are followed. Many airsoft fields have age restrictions, often allowing players as young as 10 to participate with parental supervision. It is crucial for children to wear proper protective gear, including eye protection, face masks, and sometimes full-face masks, to prevent injuries from BB impacts. Additionally, educating young players on the importance of following the rules and playing responsibly can make airsoft a safe and enjoyable activity. Parents should assess their child’s maturity and ability to adhere to safety protocols before allowing them to participate in airsoft games.
