Spring Break event at FAF: Saturday, March 21st, 2020
Hey gang, and welcome back! The worst part of Winter here in Colorado is almost behind us, and it is time to look ahead to Spring. At FAF, for most of the year, we play at Flat Acres Farm, and it is here that you get to see most of the seasons and the changes in the atmosphere that go with them. In a way, sometimes the weather is our limitation to getting out there. Still, compared to many places, you have such varying gameplay and conditions here that you don't normally see on a static field in a place where the climate is pretty much the same all year round.
On top of that, FAF is in Parker, CO, in a convenient location, so it's a very easy trip for many of you. We're sure many of you will come out to the field during Spring Break, so what better way to make it special than having a day with giveaways and new stuff at FAF?
We are very excited to see familiar faces in our customers returning to play alongside new ones who have been dying to get into the sport. As our regulars would know, FAF is constantly evolving and growing. Though we have limitations on what we can do on the Large Field for building it out (due to county regulations), we are permitted to build certain things out in Urban Field, so you will see things continue to grow from there. The CQB section is also a section we intend to change around in our airsoft fields.
Alongside the physical changes and improvements to the field, we're also cooking up some game modes we want to throw into the rotation. You (our customers) play-test these new modes, and we take direct feedback throughout the year.
As a reminder to our players, both new and experienced alike, the busier days can lead to some confusion, but to have a frustration-free time, here is what you have to do:
- Bring your airsoft guns in a gun bag
- Sign in/sign a waiver
- Pay for entry and receive a wristband to wear
- Find a place to set your equipment down
- Prepare an empty magazine, eye protection, and your airsoft gun, and go to the Chrono Station
- Await further instructions on the next game
The chronograph station line can get busy on event days, so be sure to have everything you need to make your gun operate on you and ALL the guns you wish to use. Multiple trips back and forth due to forgetting stuff is not ideal and kills time you could be spent socializing or loading up.
Tips for FAF during Spring
Camo colors
The colors you should wear to blend in will probably be green or tan. Tan still blends in with the woods and ground, though the foliage does begin to come back at this time of year, while green works just as well. The snow camo can go back into storage as we're not likely to see the ground being covered in powder as we had seen in the winter. Since at FAF, we just go by tape or no-tape armbands to indicate teams, you could mix up your colors, which would work out quite well. Our dedicated sniper-type players will know what to do and bring a mix of everything or adapt some of their ghillie or camo netting to match what colors you see at FAF.
Clothing
FAF is a casual and laid-back field, so we do not have any restrictions on what to wear outside of mandated safety equipment. Players use this to try out some airsoft outfits that might be strictly for fun and not something you'd run at a milsim game. The more serious players will use an FAF game to debug their equipment in preparation for an upcoming national milsim airsoft event such as one from Titan Milsim. The terrain and maps are pretty forgiving, but you should still dress to get dirty if this is your first time out. FAF is a purely outdoor field, and Colorado is the way it is; we could get sporadic showers, and things get pretty fast, from dusty to muddy. Also, consider that you won't be standing all the time, and taking cover requires you to get dirty, so players invest in quality gear and clothing to last them a long time. People who come to the field and rent airsoft guns to play are often just wearing casual clothing, and though it can dirty up their clothing, they manage to survive.
Guns
The weather starts to get good around this time of year, so your gas guns and other airsoft guns should perform as intended, whereas, in the cold, performance is usually stifled.
As we transition into Spring at the Colorado airsoft field, FAF remains ideal for casual and serious players to enjoy the sport. Whether you're a seasoned player or new to airsoft, FAF's dynamic fields, evolving game modes, and community-focused events offer an unparalleled airsoft experience in Colorado. Get ready for another exciting FAF season; we can't wait to see you on the field!
SEE YOU OUT THERE!
