Shooting Competitions at Fox Airsoft!

Shooting Competitions at Fox Airsoft!

A few years back, we at Fox Airsoft had occasional shooting competitions at the shop. These competitions were mainly between customers, friends, and coworkers. We've decided to bring back the shooting competitions in a more competitive sense, and they will include weekly and quarterly prizes!

The BBWarz Hero Shooting Competitions will occur on the first Tuesday and last Friday of every month from 4:30-6:30. Each day, the winner will win a FREE ticket to Flat Acres Farms Airsoft. Competitors are limited to semi-automatic pistols only and must bring their materials, which include the pistol itself, power, and ammo. The range instructor will give you the instructions for the task, and the range instructor will have the final say on all rulings. The top 10 players of the quarter of the year will be contacted via email for which they have made it to the finals, for which the entry fee is $10. These players will meet once again for the fastest time using their equipment for the chance to win the grand prize, which may consist of either a NEW PISTOL or a $100 MYSTERY BOX!

You will shoot at targets on an 11.5"x7" piece of paper from roughly 5 yards away. Sounds easy, right? Wrong. The range officer will give you instructions on the order in which to shoot the targets, how many shots per target, and any other guidelines related to the challenge. The targets will not always be the same and will change to keep you on your toes. These competitions aim to get you better at using your pistol. The picture above is known as the "1-2-3" drill. You start with the pistol lying on the table, round in the chamber, and hammer back, with the safety on. The range instructor will ask if the shooter is ready, and if the shooter indicates they are ready, the shooter will wait for the sound of the beep. At the beep, in this scenario, the shooter will pick up the pistol, take it off of safety, and fire one round into the small square on the bottom right, fire two rounds into the circle on the left, fire three rounds into the square at the top, and then shoot the stop plate to stop the timer.

The drills will change every few weeks to keep things interesting, and the prizes will not always be the same for the quarterly finals. Once again, these keep you keen on your skills with your pistol. What use is your sidearm if you spray and pray? As time passes, we hope to expand this beyond the shooting range, perhaps doing outdoor events at FAF and perhaps even adding rifles into the mix. While we are very excited to bring this back, we need to remind everyone to be safe and that this is a competition, so there will be rules and guidelines.

Here are the rules:

Safety

Failure to comply with these rules may result in an immediate disqualification.
