The KM, or Keymod, rifles from Classic Army are members of their Skirmish series. These rifles feature a strong but lightweight polymer body and heavily upgraded internals right out of the box. They also blow everything else out of the water at their price point: under $200.

The KM10 and KM12 have 10-inch and 12-inch keymod rails, respectively.  Each of these guns also has an additional 2 inches of barrel poking out from under the rail that terminates in standard 14mm CCW threads for attaching the flash hider or suppressor of your choice. This rifle is also compatible with most standard AEG pistol grip stocks.
The key external features of this rifle are the nylon fiber body and the keymod rail system. The nylon fiber gives the gun a matte look and has no scratching or gloss like polymer or ABS-bodied guns. It also maintains a very low level of flexibility. "High quality" refers to the words that describe the construction of nylon fiber. The keymod rail system is also made of the same nylon fiber, giving the rifle a sleek and uniform look from muzzle to stock. This rail has no noticeable wobble and is secured tight to the receiver. It has standard keymod rail slots on the bottom and sides, allowing for mounting keymod accessories such as the pictured  Speed Airsoft Keymod Angled Foregrip. On top, the upper rail section on this rifle extends flush from the receiver to the end of the rail, making it perfect for mounting optics wherever you'd like along this section. We put our Lancer Micro Red & Green Dot Sight at the front of the receiver and put our Bravo PEQ15 Laser and Flashlight in front of it.
Internally, this rifle is packed with features. Starting from the rear, it has low-resistance Dean connectors already soldered on! This might worry those of you with Tamiya connectors on your batteries, but fortunately, the KM10 and KM12 include a Deans to Tamiya adapter. Additionally, this rifle comes with an airsoft MOSFET installed right out of the box, preventing your trigger contacts from burning out. Also, it allows you to use LiPo batteries at higher voltages. The standard Classic Army Version 2 gearbox is perfectly compatible with any V2 upgrade or replacement parts. Upgrades and repairs will be a breeze with this rifle. Classic Army also includes a 6.03mm tight bore barrel installed in this gun right from the factory, making it quite the performer in its stock condition!

To sum up how well priced this rifle is for all its features, we at Fox would charge $150 to install a  good MOSFET, a precision tight bore barrel, and Dean connectors with labor. With how upgraded it is out of the box, it's practically as if you're getting this gun for under $50.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which is better BB or airsoft?

Whether BB or airsoft is better depends on the intended use. BB guns fire metal or lead BBs, making them suitable for target shooting and pest control but potentially dangerous for recreational play due to the risk of injury. Airsoft guns, on the other hand, shoot plastic BBs and are specifically designed for recreational activities and military simulation games. They are generally safer for human targets when proper protective gear is used, making airsoft the better choice for recreational and competitive play.

Are airsoft guns safe for 12 year olds?

Airsoft guns can be safe for 12-year-olds if proper safety precautions are followed. This includes wearing protective gear such as full-face masks, goggles, and appropriate clothing to prevent injury. Additionally, adult supervision is crucial to ensure safe and responsible use. It's also important to educate young players about the safety rules and guidelines of airsoft to prevent accidents. When these precautions are taken, airsoft can be an enjoyable and safe activity for younger players.

Do people still play airsoft?

Yes, airsoft remains a popular recreational activity and competitive sport enjoyed by many people worldwide. Airsoft communities and events continue to grow, with players participating in skirmishes, military simulation (milsim) games, and tournaments. The sport's popularity is fueled by its realistic gameplay, strategic elements, and the sense of camaraderie among players. Regular events, themed games, and the continuous development of new gear and equipment keep the airsoft community active and engaged.

Which is better for airsoft gas or CO2?

Both gas and CO2 have their advantages and the choice between them depends on personal preference and specific requirements. Green gas, a common propellant for airsoft guns, is easier to use and typically more affordable. It operates well in moderate temperatures and is often preferred for its convenience. CO2, on the other hand, provides a higher and more consistent pressure, leading to better performance in colder conditions and often higher FPS (feet per second). CO2 magazines can be more durable but are usually more expensive. Players should choose based on their gameplay needs, environmental conditions, and budget.

How many different airsoft guns are there?

There is a wide variety of airsoft guns available, catering to different play styles and scenarios. These include:

- AEGs (Automatic Electric Guns): The most common type, powered by batteries and suitable for a range of scenarios.

- GBBs (Gas Blowback Guns): Powered by green gas or CO2, offering realistic blowback action.
Spring-Powered Guns: Require manual cocking before each shot, often used for sniper rifles and low-cost options.

- HPA (High-Pressure Air) Guns: Use compressed air tanks for consistent performance and high customization.

Within these categories, there are numerous models and replicas of real-world firearms, including rifles, pistols, shotguns, and sniper rifles. Each type offers different features and benefits, allowing players to choose the best fit for their play style and preferences.
