Shot Show 2016: ASG's New Airsoft Models

Our first stop at Shot Show 2016 was the Action Sport Games (ASG) Booth. We were immediately drawn to 3 New Models - the Scorpion EVO Inferno (HPA), the Bren 805, and the SP-01 Shadow Gas Blowback. Each of these models boasts unique features that set them apart from the rest.

The Scorpion EVO is a beautiful, unique offering from ASG, and now you can get a complete HPA version! We had the opportunity to speak with the owner, Rich, of Wolverine Airsoft, and he explained how the electronics in this engine make it fully compatible with all of the EVO's features.  To see more about this airsoft gun, check out the video below:

The Bren 805 is an Automatic Electric Gun (AEG) that will be coming to market later in 2016.  This is a completely new design from ASG.  The gun features fully licensed trademarks, a CNC'd aluminum receiver, a unique folding stock, and the U.S. version will be designed to take traditional M4 magazines.  Check out the interview Jarrod did with Bob from ASG below:

The SP-01 Shadow has been out in a nonblowback version for a while. ASG is now releasing a full blowback version with all of the bells and whistles.  This gun is full metal - it has a very solid feel and is compatible with CO2 and green gas magazines.  This gun will become Fox Airsoft very soon!  Check out the video Jonathan does below:

Frequently Asked Questions

What does ASG stand for in airsoft?

ASG stands for Action Sport Games. ASG is a well-known manufacturer and distributor of airsoft guns, accessories, and equipment. They are recognized for their high-quality replicas and innovative designs, catering to both casual players and professional airsoft enthusiasts.

What is the highest powered airsoft gun?

The highest powered airsoft guns are typically gas-powered sniper rifles or custom-built HPA (High-Pressure Air) systems. These guns can achieve FPS (feet per second) ratings well above standard limits, sometimes exceeding 500 FPS. However, most airsoft fields have FPS limits for safety reasons, so it's important to check local regulations before using high-powered airsoft guns.

What is the most expensive airsoft gun build?

The most expensive airsoft gun builds can reach several thousand dollars, depending on the components and customization involved. These high-end builds often include custom CNC-machined parts, advanced internal upgrades, high-quality optics, and unique external modifications. Collectible or limited edition replicas of real-world firearms can also be very costly.

Is a higher C rating better airsoft?

In the context of airsoft batteries, a higher C rating indicates a better discharge rate, meaning the battery can deliver more power to the gun's motor more quickly. This can result in faster trigger response and a higher rate of fire. However, it's important to match the C rating to your airsoft gun's requirements to avoid potential damage.

Is 400 fps fast for airsoft?

Yes, 400 FPS is considered fast for airsoft. It is typically the upper limit for outdoor airsoft fields. This velocity provides good range and accuracy but must be used responsibly to ensure safety, as higher FPS can increase the risk of injury. Always follow your local field's FPS limits and safety guidelines.

Is 360 fps good in airsoft?

Yes, 360 FPS is a good and common velocity for airsoft. It offers a balance between range and safety, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor play. Many airsoft fields set their FPS limits around this range for AEGs (Automatic Electric Guns) to ensure fair and safe gameplay.
